So, I tried.
I tried to be the cool kid and jump on the 365 project bandwagon.
For those of you wondering what that is...
The 365 project challenges you to take one picture every day for an entire year. It's a project aimed at documenting real life.
Documentary photography has quickly become my favorite thing! I love capturing the real and unplanned moments. So naturally, I was all in.
That is, until I wasn't.
You see I tried. I really did. I made it through most of February before waving the white flag of defeat. Something that seems so simple proved to be quite challenging. Probably planning for an undertaking of this size sandwiched in the middle of a major move to Huntsville Alabama, was probably not the best choice.
But here are some things I learned...
1. I need to take more everyday pictures.
Stand alone these images may not say much, but together they tell a beautiful story. A story of my girls and our regular lives. The things I want to remember. Though I may have fallen off early on, this challenge has made me more aware of the importance of these images.
2. Keep the camera handy
You never know when something beautiful will pop up!
3. Grace. Grace. Grace.
As ironic as it is, failing this challenge taught me that I need to have way more grace for myself. As I mentioned we were in the middle of huge transitions. My husbands new job, selling a house, buying a house, moving, a pandemic- the list goes on and on. I've realized that my expectations are often too high for what I can accomplish on any given day. If I've been able to spend time with God and my children feel loved-I'd say it's been a successful day. I now can pull out the camera when I want to , without this anxious feeling that I'm not doing enough or that I'm going to miss a moment.
So here's a look at our lives the past couple of months. Laundry piles and all.

Frownieta - Yes Grace! Been learning that lesson also. I feel like being home I should have accomplished more and I start to feel bad about it but... I have a 4, 2, and 2 month old plus working from home. I need to show myself more grace. I love love love all these moments. I need to take more pictures of everyday moments. I may take a few pictures a week. And you made the laundry look so beautiful!! Look at the colors popping and you know, that's everyday life. Love you!
