Turns out that at the same time I submitted my application, a teacher for Reset had to pull out of the conference. I had just a couple of hours to submit a laid out plan for the class I had been wanting to teach, as teacher announcements were coming the following day.
Suddenly a dream I was afraid to speak out loud became a reality.
At seven months pregnant I waddled my way over to Reset in Chattanooga and it was an amazing experience.
Unlike a lot of conferences and workshops that can make you feel inferior or like you are in a comparison game, Reset was a completely unique experience. There was a sense of camaraderie amongst teachers and students interchangeably. Everyone was there to learn and build relationships.
Teaching on how to build a sustainable, motherhood business was wonderful. Taking something that I've passionate about and successful in and being able to share it for others growing in their businesses was definitely a dream and the spark of something bigger.
The only thing that trumped that experience was of course having THE Meg Loeks attend my class. I would be lying if I said I didn't have to take a minute to recompose myself before I started speaking. She is just as beautiful inside as she is outside in in her phenomenal art. Further proof of the environment created during the Reset conference.
So what does this mean for me?
This was my launching point into pursuing something I should have been pursuing a long time ago.
Education is where I belong. As much as I love creating beautiful works of art for clients and their homes, I equally love helping other photographers do the same and flourish while doing it.
If you are at a place where you feel like you need the next thing in your business-creating emotive images, balancing the facets of business, pricing yourself profitably, whatever it may be-let's connect. I want to be your cheerleader and see you succeed. Let's make that happen for you this year!
And in the meantime, what's your scary dream? I'd love to be your support in that journey as well.
