Have you ever stared at your children and been completely taken aback?

It's funny, because we see them everyday. 

I know in all of the business and craziness of life my children, my family, can start to become-ordinary.

It's not that they aren't amazing, but sometimes I'm too busy to see the tiny details that make them who they are. 

The details that I fell in love with the first time I saw them and have continued to love in the years since. 

For whatever reason, yesterday when I was looking at my daughter I didn't see a little girl. 

I saw a young woman. 

Mind you, she's 7. But she is definitely changing. 

Gone are her baby cheeks and toddler body. 

Even the twinkle in her eyes is a little bit different. 

She's maturing and, while that's normal, it always brings me just a tiny bit of sadness. 

This season has been a particularly busy one with photography. I'm grateful and blessed by that-but I also realized that I haven't documented my own kiddos nearly as much as I thought I would. 

This year I want to make sure that I'm telling their story in the best way I know how...

Through pictures. 

I asked Eden if she would oblige me and throw on a dress and go dance in the sunset. 

I know she will only change more quickly from here and I wanted to freeze time for just a moment to make sure I didn't miss it.
