Leavell Spring Family Photography Session Huntsville, AL
Springtime. Fresh new blooms. More daylight, warmer and sunnier days. I am not a winter person. There, I’ve said it. I thrive more in the warmer months. So now that we have made it to spring, my schedule is getting so busy!
Planning an outdoor photo session can cause a bit of anxiety. There are many decisions to make and questions to answer, including what to wear, what location to use, which style of photography you like best, what day and what time of day to choose, … I could go on, but instead of focusing on the questions, why not jump into the answers? Let’s go.
Let’s talk wardrobe. For families, I recommend to start with one parent and nail that outfit down, then build out from there. Steer clear of matching, and opt instead for items within a specific palette. The ideal spring photos will include green spaces and some colorful blooms or florals, so choosing a neutral palette will keep the subjects (that’s you!) as the main focus.
For locations, I love to use wide open spaces that allow me to really capture your family and their moments in a natural way. Those playful moments, sweet ones, and yes even the awkward or not so “perfect” moments. It’s real, it’s you at this moment. It’s something you will definitely treasure as years pass, and you move to the next chapter of your story.
Then there is the when. As you can probably tell from my sessions I love the golden hour. It provides that magical light that is favorable to everyone. It’s really a way of using nature’s canvas to create the beautiful, ethereal photos that are great to display in your home, office, or on social media.
