There is a lot to think about when you are expecting a new baby, but one thing I can definitely take off your plate is when and how to do the maternity photography session.
I like to ideally schedule a maternity session before the 36 weeks mark on the pregnancy. This helps just in case baby makes an early arrival. I like to chat about what you would like from your session during the first trimester to help have a clear plan for the session.
Also, I can help with the where part of the session. This family and I discussed the style of maternity session they wanted and locked in on an outdoor session. I really try to get a sense of my client’s style when making suggestions and photographing them. As you can see their style really came through in this gorgeous hillside photoshoot.
I know it can be scary when you think about the possibility of rain for your outdoor session. Don't fret.
There is something beautiful about all types of skies and conditions outdoors.
Overcast days provide the opportunity for even and smooth light (yay great complexion) as well as added depth and emotion in your images.
We *almost* rescheduled this shoot but at the last minute decided to move forward.
And I'm so glad we did.
These are some of my favorite maternity images I've taken since I've lived in North Alabama.
I just love the storytelling element that the light provided.
Expecting a baby in 2025?
Tiffany Crenshaw is Huntsville's premier lifestyle maternity and newborn photographer. She does travel as well if you are interested in a session and live outside of that region.
Most clients find ease in booking their sessions 3-6 months in advance.
